The Role
n
Through this process, we are seeking leaders who ideally display expertise across one of two key leadership streams: Teaching and Learning, and Student Services/Students at Educational Risk (SAER). Applicants are encouraged to identify the stream that best aligns with their experience, expertise and leadership strengths.
n
Teaching and Learning applicants will ideally display expertise in leading whole-school improvement through high-impact, evidence-based teaching. This includes strengthening consistency in literacy and numeracy through a low-variance curriculum, developing adaptive teaching practice and building a purposeful data culture that supports teachers to monitor student progress and refine instruction. They should be confident leading professional learning, coaching and collaboration,



with strong knowledge of curriculum, assessment, explicit instruction and the Science of Learning.

Student Services/SAER applicants should display expertise in inclusive education and supporting students with diverse learning, disability, behavioural, social and emotional needs. They would bring strong knowledge of early identification, intervention, case management and multi-tiered systems of support, with the ability to strengthen whole-school SAER processes and build staff capability. They will ideally work effectively with families, school psychologists, specialist services and external agencies to ensure adjustments and interventions are coordinated, responsive and maintain high expectations for every student.

Regardless of stream, suitable applicants should be whole-school leaders who are reflective, relational and confident in research-based practice. They will ideally display exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to build strong and respectful partnerships. Working closely with the Principal and leadership team, they would ideally contribute to a culture of professional trust, staff growth and distributed leadership, while bringing the operational capability required to support the continued success of North Cottesloe PS.
