Versatile Group is seeking an experienced Design Manager to take ownership of the design delivery for a landmark $200 million mixed-use development located on Sydney's city fringe.

About the Role
n
As Design Manager, you will lead and manage the design process for a major mixed-use development, ensuring all design documentation is coordinated, buildable, commercially sound, and delivered in line with programme objectives.
n
You will work closely with consultants, subcontractors, project managers, and senior leadership to drive collaboration, resolve complex design challenges, and ensure design excellence across all stages of the project.
n
Key Responsibilities
n

Lead the design management process from concept through to completion
n
Manage design programmes, consultant deliverables, and documentation
n
Coordinate architects, engineers, authorities, and specialist consultants
n
Chair design coordination meetings and drive timely decision-making
n




Review design documentation for constructability, compliance, quality, and commercial outcomes
n
Manage RFIs, design changes, approvals, and consultant deliverables
n
Identify and mitigate design risks throughout project delivery
n
Drive value engineering opportunities while maintaining design intent
n
Ensure compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, and planning requirements
n
Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure seamless design-to-delivery transition
n

About You
n
You will bring:
n
n
Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator in commercial construction
n
Strong understanding of design coordination, construction methodology, and consultant management
n
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence project outcomes
n
Strong knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards, and compliance frameworks
n
Experience with Procore, Aconex, Bluebeam, AutoCAD (or similar platforms)
n
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
n
