About the role
n
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
AssistantAccountant
to join our Finance team. This is an
excellentopportunity
for an ambitious accounting qualified looking tofurther develop their technical accounting skills while working ina fast-paced professional services environment.
n
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will play animportant role in supporting financial reporting, compliance,month-end processes, reconciliations, accounts administration andcontinuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely withstakeholders across the firm and gain exposure to a broad range offinance activities.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
Support month-end and year-end processes, includingpreparing journals, accruals, prepayments
andreconciliations.
n
Assist with financial reporting, management
reporting,budgeting,
forecasting and audit requirements.
n
Maintain accurate financial records, including generalledger and fixed asset management.
n
Prepare balance sheet, bank, trust and
intercompanyreconciliations,
investigating and resolving variances asrequired.
n
Support regulatory and compliance obligations, includingBAS preparation and Payment Times Reporting.
n
Assist with banking administration, treasury activities andcash management processes.
n
Provide support across accounts payable,
billing andrevenue activities.
n
Partner with stakeholders across the firm to respond toqueries and deliver high-quality financial support.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helpingto enhance finance systems, processes and the use of AI-driventools and automation.
n

About you
n
You are a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professionalwith a strong foundation in financial accounting and a desire tocontinue developing your career. You will bring:
n
n
A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, with CPA or CAstudies underway (or planned).
n
Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer orsimilar finance role.
n
Strong accounting, reconciliation and financial reportingskills.
n
Proficiency in Excel and exposure to financialsystems.
n
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills andthe ability to manage competing priorities.
n
Solid communication skills and a collaborative approach toworking with stakeholders.
n
n
Experience within a law firm or professional
servicesenvironment
would be desirable. Exposure to ERP, finance orpractice management systems (e.g. Aderant Expert) will be highlyregarded.
