Job Description
Fire Boar is seeking a Fire Detection Technician Service, Installation & Contracts to join our growing fire protection team based in Brisbane and across South-East QLD. You'll be the face of Fire Boar on site, ensuring life-safety systems are compliant, operational and delivered to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities
n
Install and commission current fire detection systems including conventional, addressable and aspirating smoke detection (ASD)
n
Carry out system upgrades, panel replacements, detector changeovers, network expansions and cause-and-effect reprogramming
n
Fault-find, diagnose and repair fire alarm panels, detectors, MCPs, sounders and ancillary devices
n
Program and commission fire indicator panels (FIPs) including zone configuration and sensitivity adjustments
n
Complete essential safety measure (ESM) inspections and produce compliant reports
n
Maintain accurate records via field service software (e.g. SimPRO / Uptick)
n
Identify defects, non-compliances and upgrade opportunities for clients
n
Ensure all work complies with AS **** series, AS ****, BCA/NCC and relevant state regulations
n
About you
n
Current Queensland Fire Protection Licence, detection class (or eligibility to obtain)
n
Electrical Licence or Electrical Licence (desirable)
n
Experience servicing, installing and commissioning fire detection and alarm systems
n




Sound knowledge of AS **** and AS **** series
n
Experience with major panel brands (e.g. Ampac, Notifier, Edwards, Tyco, Simplex and Pertronic)
n
Competency in fault-finding, panel programming and system commissioning
n
Ability to read fire system drawings, schematics and cause-and-effect matrices
n
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
n
White Card and valid driver's licence
n
Strong communication skills and professional client-facing manner
n
