Local Government | Greater Geelong Region | $75 per hour

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide critical support through the end-of-financial-year period. This short-term assignment is ideal for a seasoned Coordinator Finance or Financial Accountant who can step in quickly, stabilise BAU and help deliver key reporting and audit milestones.

About the Role
n
Working closely with the Manager Finance, Coordinator Finance, Financial Accountant and Management Accountant, you'll play a hands-on role across:
n
n
End-of-year processes, audit preparation and annual financial statements
n
General ledger, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting
n
Returns, acquittals and compliance requirements
n
Budget development, analysis and financial modelling
n
Supporting a new Manager commencing 9 June
n
Providing stability while the team leads a major financial system transition (Altus → Business Central)
n
n
This is a role for someone who can step in with confidence,



manage competing priorities and keep BAU moving while the team navigates a busy reporting cycle and system change.

About You
n
You bring strong technical accounting capability, excellent attention to detail and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. You're collaborative, calm under pressure and comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders.

You'll ideally offer:
n
n
Local Government finance experience (essential)
n
Strong financial accounting and EOFY reporting
capabilityExperience
with GL, journals, reconciliations and financial statements
n
Understanding of asset accounting methodologies
n
Ability to step into the Coordinator role if required
n
$75 per hour
