About the Role
n
As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive estimates for civil construction projects.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Analyse project specifications, drawings and documentation to prepare detailed estimates for civil construction projects
n
Conduct quantity take-offs and material calculations to provide accurate cost assessments
n
Collaborate with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions
n
Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating pricing to achieve cost-effective outcomes
n
Keep up to date with industry trends, material costs and labour rates to ensure competitiveness in bids
n
Review and analyse bid opportunities, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
n
Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals in a timely manner
n
Participate in project meetings and support project teams during the pre-construction phase
n
n
About You
n
You will be a seasoned civil estimator with strong technical skills and commercial acumen.
n
To be successful in this role, you will have
n
n
A minimum of 10 years' experience as an Estimator in the civil construction industry (council tenders, public domain works such as footpaths, driveways, asphalt works, stormwater works, etc.)
n
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
n
Full Australian working rights
n
Proven experience dealing with councils, TfNSW and private clients
n
Proficiency in conducting civil take-offs and working with estimating software (Bluebeam preferred)
n
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials and techniques
n
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
n
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Demonstrated track record of successful bid submissions and cost-effective project outcomes
n
Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field
