About the role
Join our Sydney finance team as an Assistant Accountant and build strong foundations across core accounting processes.
Reporting to the AU Finance Manager, you'll get hands-on exposure to reconciliations, journals, accounts payable, company card processing, month-end and year-end close, and audit support.
It's a excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate to turn your knowledge into practical experience and grow your career in a collaborative team.
What you'll be doing
Prepare bank reconciliations for all Australian bank accounts and month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and post routine and month-end journal entries to keep the General Ledgeraccurateand up to date.
Assist with General Ledger account analysis during month-end close.
Process supplier bills and review entries in theaccountspayable ledger.
Process and review company card transactions, including reconciliations in the accounting software.
Assistwith transaction uploads and updates across the finance systems.
Support month-end and year-end close, including audit activities and ad hoc finance team priorities.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or aBusinessdegree with an accounting major.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts, with excellent attention to detail, soundjudgementand a focus on accuracy.
Strong Excel and accounting software skills; experience with NetSuite and/or Xero is highly regarded.
Previousaccounting experience through an internship or similar role is preferred; exposure to a multi-entity orgroupfinance environment is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and under deadlines.
