The IT Category Manager reports to the Senior Category Manager – IT within the Procurement Team. You will work collaboratively to manage commercial engagements, and drive value for the TPG Telecom Technology teams.
n
The role is an integral part of the procurement team and will partner closely with the Technology teams to establish and maintain commercial relationships with vendors.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Manage the portfolio of IT categories and vendor and their engagement across the IT Technology organisation working closely with the relevant business owners to deliver optimal value to TPG.
n
Identify and manage cost optimisation opportunities without compromising business objectives or quality or service/scope.
n
Lead commercial negotiations with vendors to ensure optimum outcomes whilst ensuring that our dealings with vendors meet the highest professional and ethical standards.
n
Manage and lead RFx processes.
n
Understand and develop category strategies that will support the delivery of the TPG business strategies.
n
Ownership of a portfolio of vendors ensuring contracts are in place and managed.
n
Complete regular reviews of supplier arrangements to ensure the fulfilment of all contractual obligations, the delivery of business value and the resolution of any disputes or non-compliance.

Provide commercial advice in relation to managing the lifecycle of vendors and their contractual agreements.

Responsibility for maintaining a consolidated vendor base, leveraging scale and value and managing non-performing or redundant vendors.
n
Review and approval of requirements and requisitions across your vendor base to ensure orders adhere to supplier agreements.
n
Support initiatives related to procurement transformation processes and systems improvement.

What You'll Bring
n
n
Commercial Degree qualified or equivalent desirable.
n
Demonstrated ability to engage and work with key business stakeholders.
n
Experience negotiating and managing complex supplier contracts.
n
Experience managing and leading RFx processes.
n
Full understanding of the vendor lifecycle with strong knowledge of partnering arrangements.
n
Exposure and/or experience within a
purchasing/procurement
workplace with a sound understanding of procurement policies and procedures.
n
Solutions focussed with strong commercial acumen/analytical skills.
n
Experience delivering savings and cost avoidance activities through negotiation and scope discussion.
n
