We are looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator / Team Leader to join our growing team.
n
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes, can confidently run jobs and small teams, and understands the standard expected on high-end residential and builder projects.
n
About the role
n
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for running day-to-day painting projects and keeping jobs organised and on schedule. You will lead and supervise painters while also working hands-on, and communicate professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Running day-to-day painting projects and keeping jobs organised and on schedule
n
Leading and supervising painters while also working hands-on
n
Communicating professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades
n
Reading job scopes and understanding what is required before commencing work
n
Preparing surfaces correctly, including sanding, filling, patching, caulking and priming
n
Interior and exterior painting
n
Brush, roller and spray application
n
Timber preparation, staining and clear finishes
n
Working with different coating systems and primers for timber, masonry and metal surfaces
n




Checking completed work and ensuring a consistently high standard of finish
n
n
About you
n
n
Strong experience in painting and decorating
n
Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Team Leader or Supervisor
n
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
n
Robust knowledge of preparation and coating systems
n
Ability to run a job and manage other painters without constant supervision
n
Good communication and organisational skills
n
A professional attitude when dealing with clients and builders
n
Reliability and strong work ethic
n
Australian driver's licence and reliable transport
n
