We are seeking an experienced and hands‐on Panel Shop Manager to take ownership of the day-to‐day operation and help build the panel shop from the ground up.

About the Role
n
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to play a key role in establishing and developing our panel and paint operations.
n
Reporting to the operations leadership team, you will be responsible for managing workshop operations, building a high-performing team and ensuring vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the day-to-day operation of the panel and paint workshop.
n
Build, manage and develop a team of Panel Beaters, Spray Painters and other workshop staff.
n
Establish efficient repair workflows, processes and quality standards.
n
Allocate and monitor repair jobs to ensure timely completion.
n
Monitor productivity, turnaround times, quality and workshop performance.
n
Coordinate parts, equipment, suppliers and external service providers.
n
Conduct quality checks and ensure repairs meet company and manufacturer standards.
n
Manage workshop safety, housekeeping and compliance requirements.
n
Monitor work in progress (WIP) and ensure accurate job documentation.
n
Work closely with internal teams to coordinate vehicle movement and repair requirements.
n
Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency, quality and profitability.
n
Support the growth and development of the panel shop as the business expands.

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Previous experience managing a panel shop, body shop or automotive repair workshop.
n
Strong knowledge of automotive panel beating and paint repair processes.
n
Proven experience leading and developing workshop teams.
n
Strong organisational and problem‐solving skills.
n
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
Ability to manage multiple repair jobs and competing priorities.
n
Solid communication and leadership skills.
n
A hands‐on and proactive approach to workshop management.
n
Current Australian Driver Licence.
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Experience in a dealership, smash repair or vehicle preparation environment.
n
Experience working with EVs or new energy vehicles.
n
Experience establishing or developing a new workshop operation.
n
Knowledge of insurance repair processes and industry standards.
n
Relevant automotive trade qualifications.
n
n
What We Offer

$110,000–$130,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.
