The opportunity
n
As an Accountant, Financial Control, you will play a key role in supporting Mirvac's Residential Development business and Financial Control team. As part of the Financial Control team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, month-end accounting activities, and financial control processes across residential development entities and joint ventures.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an Accountant looking to further develop their technical accounting expertise while gaining exposure to one of Australia's leading residential property development businesses.

Key Accountabilities
n
n
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and prepare reporting deliverables for Group Tax and Group Finance across wholly owned entities, joint ventures and joint operations.
n
Prepare journals to support Residential Development sales.
n
Manage national overhead cost centres and corporate recharges.
n
Own month-end close activities across the balance sheet and profit and loss, including the review of monthly account reconciliations.
n
Assist with the preparation of half year and full year Group Reporting Packs.
n
Assist with GST compliance activities.
n
Prepare audit work papers and assist in responding to audit queries.
n
Act as the point of contact between the offshore team, including monitoring performance and providing ongoing feedback.
n
Maintain general ledger, job cost and cost centre master data.
n
Contribute to process improvement and active automation initiatives to drive efficiency and best-practice outcomes.
n
Manage ongoing professional development by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, tax legislation and relevant technical developments.

About you
n
You are a finance skilled with a minimum of 2 years' post qualification experience.
n
You will also have:
n
n
Exposure to listed Property, Real Estate, Construction, or a related industry which will be highly regarded.
n
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
Well developed technical accounting skills and experience.
n
Be comfortable with multi-tasking.
n
Reasonable knowledge of general income tax and GST principles.
n
Intermediate excel skills essential.
n
Experience with large ERP systems, with Yardi experience desirable but not essential.
n
Strong attention to detail.
n
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
