About the role
n
n
Managing a diverse criminal law caseload
n
Appearing regularly in Courts
n
Conducting pleas, bail applications, hearings and instructing in trials
n
Advising clients on complex legal issues, strategy and risk
n
Liaising with counsel, experts, police and other stakeholders
n
Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and support staff (where appropriate)
n
Contributing to the continued growth and development of the criminal law practice
n
n
About you
n
n
Admitted as a legal practitioner in Queensland
n
3-10+ Yrs PQE, with a robust focus on criminal law
n
Demonstrated experience managing criminal matters with a high degree of autonomy
n
Confident advocate with regular court appearance experience
n
Strong working knowledge of Queensland criminal procedure and evidence
n
Excellent written and oral communication skills
n
Sound judgement, attention to detail with a strong work ethic
n
A genuine commitment to criminal law and achieving strong client outcomes
n
A practical, hands-on and client-focused approach
n
Collegiate, professional and comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment
n
An interest in mentoring or supporting junior team members
n
