IDT Australia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Engineering team on a casual basis to support an exciting period of increased project activity.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 3–5 years' experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, food or other highly regulated manufacturing industries who enjoys working across a variety of engineering projects rather than sitting behind a desk all day.
n
You'll work alongside an experienced engineering team delivering facility upgrades, equipment installations, process improvements and qualification activities while supporting manufacturing operations across our GMP pharmaceutical facility.
n

About the Role:
n
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead smaller engineering projects from concept through to implementation while providing technical engineering support across the site.
n
Typical work may include:
n
n
Delivering capital and operational improvement projects
n
Preparing project scopes, budgets and technical specifications
n
Coordinating contractors and external vendors
n
Supporting equipment installation, commissioning and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ)
n
Assisting with validation documentation where required
n
Supporting engineering investigations and technical problem solving
n
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased manufacturing efficiency
n
Working closely with Production, Quality, Validation, Maintenance and Operations teams
n
Ensuring all engineering activities comply with GMP, quality and safety requirements
n
n
About You:
n
We're looking for someone who enjoys variety and can quickly integrate into an experienced engineering team.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering
n
Approximately 3–5 years' engineering experience within pharmaceutical or another regulated manufacturing environment
n
Experience delivering engineering or capital projects
n
Exposure to GMP manufacturing environments
n
Experience working with contractors and suppliers
n
Strong technical problem-solving skills
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments
n
n
Desirable experience includes:
n
n
Qualification and Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
n
Process improvement or Lean Manufacturing
n
Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities
n
Utilities and process equipment
n
AutoCAD or similar design software
n
Project management methodologies
n
n
