Phillip Riley are seeking a Protection & Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist engineering business based in Sydney.
The role will focus on the testing, commissioning and maintenance of HV, MV and LV electrical systems across a range of projects, including renewable energy, utilities and data centres.
Key Responsibilities
Perform FAT and SAT of protection and control systems.
Program, test and commission protection relays
Test switchgear, transformers, CTs, VTs and circuit breakers.
Undertake earthing, HV cable, insulation resistance and withstand testing.
Support secondary system design reviews and switchgear commissioning.
Coordinate outages and develop inspection and test plans.
Manage in office commissioning activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Prepare detailed test reports, maintain test records and update as-built documentation.
About You
A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade/technical qualification with industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in HV/MV/LV protection, testing and commissioning.
Strong knowledge of protection relay testing, programming and configuration.
Experience using testing equipment such as Omicron CMC/CPC, Doble or ISA DRTS.
Good understanding of switchgear, transformers, earthing systems and HV cable testing.
The ability to work independently and safely on HV/LV sites.
Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Australia.
