We are partnering with a well established education group who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their team.
This one's a bit different. The business is actively investing in AI and automation to cut out manual work in finance, things like invoice processing and reporting. So if you're someone who's always looking for a smarter way to do things, not just the way it's always been done, you'll probably enjoy this.
You'll sit as 2IC to the Financial Controller, with 3 direct reports and positive exposure to senior leadership across the group.
Roles and Responsibilities
Month end close and reconciliations across multiple entities
Monthly reporting packs, with proper commentary, not just numbers on a page
Financial modelling and forecasting for budgeting and planning
BAS, payroll tax and other statutory lodgements across several states
Working closely with auditors and external tax agents
Getting hands on with the ERP system, pushing better reporting and automation
Finding ways AI can take manual work off the team's plate (and yes, this is a real part of the role)
Experience Needed
Education experience preferred, but open to candidates from other industries
Comfortable working across multiple entities with real compliance complexity
Experience with large ERP systems well regarded, NetSuite experience ideal
Solid grounding in AASB and tax
Genuine interest in AI and automation tools, this isn't a nice to have here
A leadership style that's hands on, not hands off
