Job Description

Operating across AI infrastructure, high-performance compute, cloud platforms and large-scale technology environments, Sharon AI delivers scalable, secure and reliable compute solutions for demanding AI, ML and HPC workloads.

The Role
n
As a System Administrator, you'll play a hands‐on role in supporting the performance, reliability and availability of Sharon AI's large‐scale CPU and GPU infrastructure across Australian data centres.
n
Working across both physical and virtual environments, you'll be involved in everything from racking and maintaining hardware through to Linux administration, virtualisation, Kubernetes, networking, storage and system optimisation. This is a broad technical role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems and working across the full infrastructure stack.

Key Responsibilities
n
Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based production environments
n
Rack, stack and cable servers, networking and storage equipment within data centres
n
Manage KVM/libvirt virtualisation platforms and compute workloads
n
Deploy and support containerised applications and Kubernetes clusters
n
Configure and maintain networking infrastructure, including DNS, routing and firewalls
n
Manage high-speed and clustered storage environments
n
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues across servers, GPUs, networking and storage
n
Apply security patches, system updates and configuration standards
n
Monitor infrastructure health,
troubleshoot performance issues and support site reliability
n
Maintain secure environments, including PKI/TLS and encryption standards
n
Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation of compute environments
n
Skills & Experience
n
2+ years' experience in systems administration, cloud infrastructure or technical operations
n
Strong foundational knowledge across Linux, networking, virtualisation and hardware
n
Experience working with physical infrastructure and data centre environments
n
Exposure to Kubernetes, containers and virtualisation technologies
n
Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving capabilities
n
Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
n
Experience within high-performance computing, cloud or large‐scale infrastructure environments is advantageous
n
Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, CKA, AWS or Azure are advantageous
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
n
A proactive, curious and adaptable approach to learning and solving problems
