We're looking for an experienced Surface Electrician to join our Surface Maintenance Team.
n
This role is responsible for undertaking scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations within the Process Plant and associated infrastructure.
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory and to NQM Gold's standards and specifications.
n
Performance test equipment before signing off to ensure safe and efficient operation.
n
Maintain all electrical equipment in the process plant, WTP, STP, relative booster stations and tails storage facilities.
n
Inspect, service, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment in a secure and efficient manner.
n




Complete assigned work and associated paperwork.
n
Conduct breakdown and PM checks as required.
n
Carry out operational checks as per shutdown checklist to ensure equipment is running on SCADA.
n
Supervise the work of electrical contractors when engaged to carry out work on site.
n
Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk taking behaviours or actions.
n
Ensure good clear communication lines within team and with other
sections/departments.
n
Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
n
Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
n
Always maintain the highest standard of housekeeping through continuous review and management of work area daily.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work safety, practices, and procedures.
n
Support the Supervisor by participating in root cause analysis activities.
n
Ensure good clear communication lines within team and with other
sections/departments.
n

What we're looking for
n
n
3 years' experience in heavy industry maintenance & installation (preferably gold mining)
n
Relevant trade qualifications, preferably with a demonstrated track record in mining related electrical work
n
Experience with Pumping Systems & Power Generation
n
High voltage switching & permitting systems
n
Flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks within a small maintenance team
n
Instrumentation competencies and training
n
Effective Communication skills both verbal and written
n
Ability to prioritise and schedule work
n
Delivering Results and Meeting Expectations
n
Adhering to Work and Safety Standards
n
