The purpose of this role is to enhance community safety by facilitating effective risk management, supervision and improved rehabilitation of offenders demonstrating violent extremist indicators, grievance/targeted threat or mass homicide potential.

The Senior Practitioner, CVE role is a developing specialist clinical role that provides to support to operational staff while building deeper capability in countering violent extremism, grievance/targeted threat or mass homicide potential. The role uses solid knowledge and experience of skills in risk assessment and management across a range of forensic behaviours of concerns and applies this to violent extremist offenders under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.

The most suitable applicant will demonstrate their applied knowledge, skills and experiences against these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:

Demonstrated experience and/or clinical knowledge in your field of expertise in assessing, managing and treating offenders deemed as high harm/complex needs which may include offenders who have engaged, or may engage in violent, sexual, extremist of fixated related offending
n
Experience in the administration and interpretation of forensic risk screening and structured professional judgement tools and the application of these to operational environments
n
Experience in delivering intervention, either individual or group to offenders/cohorts with complex forensic presentations
n
Ability to apply established frameworks and specialised assessment processes for complex offenders and willingness to seek guidance and support as required
n
Demonstrated dedication to individual career development, proactive engagement in supervision and applying feedback
n
Knowledge and understanding of the application of theories, models and research related to behaviour change and risk mitigation for complex, high risk offender cohorts
n
Demonstrating developing specialist capability in the area of violent extremism, grievance/targeted threat or mass homicide
n
High levels of emotional resilience and experience working in complex environments
n
Evidenced experience in handling sensitive and protected information in accordance with relevant legislative timeframes
n
Displays personal drive and integrity
n
Communicates clearly and with influence, negotiates confidently
n
