We are seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Surgical & Midwifery Ward on a permanent full-time basis.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife looking to take the next step in their leadership career, working alongside an experienced Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team in a supportive clinical environment.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the overall clinical management of the ward, provide high-quality patient care and support the development, supervision and education of nursing staff.
n
You will play an significant role in ensuring safe, effective and patient-centred care is consistently delivered across the ward.
n
The Position
n
n
Provide clinical leadership and supervise nursing practice, ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained.
n
Assist with the overall clinical management and coordination of the ward.
n
Initiate reviews and coordinate care for patients with complex health needs.
n
Act as a patient advocate, protecting the rights, dignity and safety of patients at all times.
n
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
n
Take responsibility for nominated clinical portfolios as delegated by the Nurse Unit Manager and provide regular updates.
n
Support the education and professional development of nursing staff through formal and informal teaching.
n
Monitor diagnostic procedures and investigations, escalating abnormalities appropriately.
n
Evaluate and document the outcomes of nursing and medical interventions and promptly escalat[e] significant concerns.
n
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.

About you

Well-developed clinical assessment, analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Knowledge of legislation, professional standards and requirements relevant to nursing and midwifery practice.
n
Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary teams.
n
Strong delegation, planning and organisational skills.
n
The ability to motivate, support and develop colleagues.
n
A commitment to ongoing professional education and self-directed learning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Previous leadership or ANUM experience will be highly regarded.

Salary & Benefits

We can offer you Salary: $120,835 to $124,903 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. Permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week.
n
