Job Description
Turn people data into insights that drive better decisions
n
Australian Venue Co. is looking for a People Data & Insights Analyst to help build the next generation of workforce analytics across our business.
n
With a diverse portfolio of pubs, bars and event spaces across metropolitan, suburban and regional Australia, our workforce is large, varied and fast-moving. This role will help us better understand that workforce — turning complex people data into clear, trusted insights that enable our People & Culture leaders to anticipate workforce needs, identify emerging risks and take targeted action.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you'll work across People & Culture, Payroll, Data Services and our key workforce systems to develop meaningful reporting, analytics and decision-support products.
n
Key responsibilities
n
You'll take ownership of workforce analytics across areas including workforce planning, payroll compliance, employee sentiment, retention and people risk.
n
Your work will include:
n
n
Translating business and P&C; questions into meaningful workforce metrics, lead indicators and reporting.
n
Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards, semantic models and analytical products.
n
Using SQL to analyse, validate and reconcile workforce data.
n
Providing insights into workforce demand, vacancies, recruitment pipelines, critical roles and internal mobility.
n
Developing controlled indicators that help identify potential payroll-compliance risks and exceptions.
n
Analysing employee survey results, engagement, turnover,
retention and employee lifecycle trends.
n
Identifying emerging workforce risks and opportunities and translating them into practical recommendations.
n
Partnering with Data Services to improve data quality, governance, metric definitions and source-to-report reconciliation.
n
Managing a prioritised workforce analytics backlog and improving reporting automation and data literacy across P&C.;
n
n
You'll work with data from platforms including Workday, Human Force, Operandio and AVC Prime, our governed enterprise data platform.
n
What makes you the right fit for this role
n
You could currently be working in People Analytics, Workforce Analytics, HR Reporting, Payroll Analytics, Business Intelligence or a broader Data Analyst role and be looking to specialise further in workforce insights.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
Strong SQL, Power BI and Excel capability.
n
Experience building dashboards, data models and clear, decision-ready reporting.
n
Strong analytical skills and the ability to validate and reconcile data from multiple sources.
n
Experience working with workforce, HR, payroll, recruitment or employee survey datasets.
n
An ability to translate complex data into insights that senior stakeholders can understand and act on.
n
Strong attention to detail and an understanding of data quality, privacy, security and governance.
n
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
n
n
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data platforms, data lakes or semantic modelling will be highly regarded, as will experience with Workday or other workforce-management platforms. Python capability is advantageous but not essential.
