Hoffmann Reed has been exclusively engaged by the University of Melbourne's Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, Australia's premier health and biomedical faculty, to find a Director, Organisation Effectiveness and Governance to lead and embed a current operating model, creating a faculty-wide capability for continuous and distributed organisational change.

About the opportunity
n
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll be working in a high calibre team in a collegiate environment with the following responsibilities:
n

Lead implementation and embedding of the new Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences professional services operating model
n
Enable effective and sustainable change through distributed ownership and capability-building
n




Design pragmatic governance for decision-making, clarity, and system alignment
n
Coordinate transformation activities to reduce duplication and inefficiency
n
Equip local leaders to drive adoption, supported by practical approaches and strong engagement
n
Continuously refine change delivery approaches using experimentation and feedback
n
n
About you
n
We are seeking motivated professionals with:
n
n
Proven experience leading organisational transformation or operating model change in complex, multi-layered environments
n
Ability to build capability in others, enabling and embedding local ownership of change
n
A pragmatic, agile mindset with strong interpersonal, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills
n
Experience working across functions and in matrix systems; comfortable leading through ambiguity and alignment
n
High-level problem solving, judgement, and a record of service excellence.
