We're recruiting on behalf of a well established Sydney law firm who need a hands‐on IT Operations contractor to manage a busy few weeks of change while they finalise their longer term IT setup.

Over the next month or two you'll be the person making sure a big stretch of change lands smoothly: an office move, a phone system changeover, AV setup in the new space, and working alongside the firm's MSP to get networking stood up. There's also a CRM project likely to kick off in the same window.

This is a genuinely hands‐on role. You'll need to be technically strong enough to actually do the work and to sanity check what the MSP delivers, not just coordinate from a distance.

For the right person, this isn't just a month's contract. The firm is planning to bring on a permanent IT Operations Manager later this year to manage their in‐house IT team and own the relationship with their MSP going forward, and the contract is a genuine pathway into that role if it's a fit on both sides.

What you'll be doing in the short term:

Leading the technical side of the office relocation, including desktop, network and AV setup in the recent space
n
Managing the phone system changeover and unified comms transition
n




Working directly with the firm's MSP to get networking sorted, including some hands on work where neededGetting a CRM project off the ground if timing allows
n
Providing technical oversight and quality control across all of the above
n

What the permanent role (if it progresses) would look like:
n
n
Owning IT Operations end to end: service desk, infrastructure, telephony and asset management
n
Managing the in‐house support team and the relationship with the MSP
n
Building out operational processes, reporting and governance as the firm scales
n
Owning the IT operations budget, vendor contracts and forecasting
n
Working closely with the Head of Technology and Cyber Security team on risk and compliance
n
n
What we're looking for:
n
n
Strong hands‐on infrastructure, networking and endpoint experience
n
Comfortable working with and holding vendors/MSPs to account
n
Experience with office moves, telephony systems or AV setup is a big plus
n
People leadership experience is a bonus for the contract phase, but becomes central if you move into the permanent role
n
