Over the last 12 years Billy J has grown into a global fashion ecommerce business with a nine-figure turnover and significant opportunity ahead.

We are therefore looking for an experienced Head of Finance to take ownership of the financial direction of the business and play a critical role in shaping our next phase of growth.
n
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will sit at the centre of commercial decision-making, bringing together financial performance, strategic planning, risk, capital, working capital and business intelligence to help guide the direction of Billy J.
n
This is a role for someone who sees finance as more than a support function. You will challenge thinking, identify opportunities, provide commercial clarity and ensure the financial implications of major decisions are understood before they are made.
n
With international expansion, increasing operational complexity and continued growth ahead, you will help build the financial capability, discipline and insight required to support Billy J at scale.

What You'll Own
n
n
Lead the overall finance function and set the financial strategy and direction of the business
n
Act as a trusted commercial advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team
n
Provide sophisticated financial analysis, insight and recommendations to support business-critical decisions
n
Lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and long-term planning
n
Establish clear visibility over financial performance, profitability, cash generation and working capital
n
Translate financial and operational data into meaningful commercial insights and strategic actions
n
Evaluate the financial impact of growth initiatives, investment decisions, international expansion and major business opportunities
n
Drive a strong understanding of commercial performance across revenue, margin, inventory, pricing, marketing and operating costs
n
Identify emerging risks, opportunities and trends and proactively bring these to the leadership team
n
Provide appropriate financial governance, controls and risk management as the business continues to scale
n
Lead,



develop and evolve the finance function and team to support the complexity of a growing global business
n
Partner across the broader leadership team to embed financial thinking and accountability into decision-making
n
Oversee external accounting, tax, audit and financial advisory relationships
n
Drive the evolution of financial systems, reporting infrastructure, processes and business intelligence
n

About You
n
You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical capability with sophisticated commercial judgement.
n
You understand the numbers at a detailed level, but your real value comes from being able to step back, identify what is driving performance and translate that into a clear view of where the business should go next.
n
You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, navigating complexity and making informed recommendations in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
7–10+ years' progressive finance experience, including experience at a senior leadership level
n
Previous experience as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Director or equivalent
n
Strong financial accounting and commercial finance foundations
n
Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and strategic planning capability
n
Proven experience managing cash flow, working capital and financial risk
n
Experience leading and developing a finance function
n
Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
n
The confidence and credibility to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
n
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make complex financial information clear and actionable
n
CA or CPA qualification highly regarded
n
Experience within retail, ecommerce, fashion, consumer goods or another high-growth, inventory-led business highly regarded
n

You won't wait for a question to be asked or a report to be requested. You'll identify what matters, understand the story behind the numbers and bring the CEO and leadership team a clear perspective on what is happening, why it matters and where we should go from here.

You'll have the credibility to challenge assumptions, the judgement to balance commercial opportunity with financial discipline and the ability to bring structure to a complex and rapidly evolving business.

Most importantly, you'll think beyond finance.

You'll understand how decisions across product, buying, inventory, marketing, people, operations and international growth ultimately connect to financial performance — and you'll use that understanding to help Billy J make better decisions.
