Role & responsibilities
n
Lead the design and delivery of HV power systems solutions for mining, utilities and renewable energy projects.
n
Conduct specialised network analysis and performance standard studies to meet industry compliance requirements.
n
Undertake power systems modelling and analysis using DigSilent PowerFactory and ETAP software packages.
n
Design HV substations and powerlines for greenfield and brownfield projects across the resources sector.
n
Prepare and evaluate technical tenders and proposals for power systems projects.
n
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the power systems engineering team.
n
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, instrumentation and controls engineers.
n
Manage project deliverables and ensure alignment with client requirements and timelines.
n
Travel to project sites as required to support design implementation and client engagement.
n
Preferred candidate profile
n
Degree-level qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with specialised power engineering qualifications highly regarded.
n
Extensive experience in analysis and design of HV power systems, including powerlines and substations.
n
Proven expertise in specialised network analysis and performance standard studies to meet industry benchmarks.
n
Proficiency in power systems modelling packages such as DigSilent PowerFactory and ETAP.
n
Solid electrical engineering background encompassing electrical, instrumentation and controls applications.
n
Demonstrated experience working on both greenfields and brownfields projects across mining, utilities and renewable energy sectors.
n
Strong technical leadership capability with the ability to mentor team members and drive project delivery.
n
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex power systems challenges.
n
Ability to self-manage whilst working effectively in various team and project delivery scenarios.
n
Solid project management skills with experience in tender preparation and evaluation.
n
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders across resources and renewable energy clients.
n
Willingness and ability to travel as required by project demands.
n
Experience in renewable energy integration and grid connection studies is highly valued.
