Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
n
HumeLink is a current 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia's eastern states.
n
HumeLink is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
n
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.5bn, includes delivery of new 500Kv double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity
n
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Substations to join our team based on site on a FIFO roster.
n
What Will a Day In This Role Look Like
n
n
Plan, lead, and control construction activities to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
n
Coordinate resources and teams to ensure sufficient labour, plant, and subcontractors, while monitoring progress and performance.
n
Integrate project functions by working closely with engineering, procurement, logistics, quality, and document control to support efficient construction delivery.
n
Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance by enforcing HSSE standards, workplace laws, environmental licence conditions,
and record‐keeping requirements.
n
Manage stakeholder relationships by liaising with clients, supporting employee relations, maintaining project data, and completing ad‐hoc tasks as required.
n
n

What are we looking for you to bring to the team
n
n
You will have extensive Construction Management experience working within the utilities infrastructure sectors specifically on Greenfield or Brownfield substation environments
n
You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of construction principles on all associated construction works including foundations, structures and access tracks.
n
You will have a high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.
n
Tertiary Engineering qualification or relevant industry trade background desired
n
