You will join a workers' compensation regulatory function supporting a priority Fraud Action Plan, working with the state's workers' compensation insurer, insurers and other key stakeholders to strengthen fraud prevention, detection and response.

The Opportunity
n
We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Officer for a temporary contract based in Brisbane CBD.
n
This is an opportunity to take a lead role in delivering a priority Fraud Action Plan, working closely with senior leaders, the workers' compensation insurer, subject matter experts and other internal and external stakeholders.
n
Reporting to the Director, Workers' Compensation Investigations and Prosecution Services, you will provide project leadership across planning, governance, stakeholder coordination and delivery.
n
The role will suit a senior project professional who can quickly understand complex subject matter, build trusted relationships, bring structure to competing priorities and drive outcomes in a regulatory environment.
n
As the Principal Project Officer, you will:
n
Lead project planning, governance, milestones, risks, dependencies and reporting;
n
Coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders to progress key Fraud Action Plan deliverables;
n
Develop a scheme-wide fraud framework, including measures and performance metrics;
n
Lead fraud education and awareness initiatives and develop an insurer fraud toolkit;
n
Monitor and evaluate targeted compliance initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement;
n
Lead working groups and stakeholder forums, bringing subject matter experts together to achieve outcomes;
n
Provide secretariat support to the Fraud Taskforce, including meeting papers, minutes, actions and follow-up;
n




Prepare high-quality executive briefs, reports, governance papers and project documentation;
n
Analyse research, data, trends and stakeholder feedback to support evidence-based recommendations;
n
Monitor delivery, identify risks and provide clear updates to senior stakeholders; and
n
Support change and the adoption of project outcomes across the workers' compensation scheme.
n
Required Experience
n
We are seeking an experienced project skilled with a strong track record delivering complex initiatives in a government, regulatory or similarly complex environment.
n
You will bring:
n
Demonstrated experience managing complex projects or programs from development through to delivery;
n
Strong project planning, governance, risk management, reporting and delivery capability;
n
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and interdependent workstreams;
n
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills;
n
Experience facilitating working groups, workshops or stakeholder forums;
n
Excellent written communication skills, including executive briefs, reports and governance papers;
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an evidence-based approach to decision making;
n
Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and drive outcomes through influence; and
n
Ability to quickly understand complex regulatory, policy or operational environments.
n
Highly regarded:
n
Queensland Government or public sector experience;
n
Regulatory, compliance, policy,



enforcement or integrity experience;
n
Workers' compensation, insurance or fraud-related experience; and
n
Experience delivering projects involving legislative or regulatory requirements.
