The Mint offers some of the most unique career

Coin making – polishing, laser frosting, 3Dengraving, Physical Vapour Deposition hard coating, chrome plating,dies inspection and collars manufacture.

Machinery – operate and maintain minting criticalmachines.

Graphic Design – design coin packaging

manufacturingoperations.

About the Branch
n
The Operations Branch is the manufacturing arm of the Mint. Itis an operationally focused, multi-disciplinary team,
responsiblefor the manufacture of both Australian and foreign circulatingcoin, collectable coins, and tooling to support those
productionrequirements.
The branch covers, coin manufacture, die preparation,blank preparation, electro plating and chemical processing, toolingand machining services, planning and packing.

In addition to meeting production targets, the branch has astrong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and quality. TheOperations branch is currently embarking on a large program ofuplift initiatives, providing a great opportunity for

About the Role
n
The Operations Project Manager reports to the Executive
Manager,Operations,
and is responsible for leading and delivering projectsthat support the Mint's manufacturing and operational workplace.This includes projects involving production equipment,
facilityimprovements,
and the automation of manufacturing processes andsystems.
n
The role is accountable for the full project
lifecycle,including
project initiation, planning, analysis, risk
management,stakeholder
engagement, procurement, reporting, and successfuldelivery within approved scope, budget, and timeframes.
n
The Operations Project Manager applies sound knowledge ofmanufacturing principles, automation technologies, and
engineeringfundamentals
to drive process improvements, enhance
productionefficiency,
maintain equipment reliability, and ensure compliancewith quality and safety standards. The role also develops andmaintains effective relationships with internal and
externalstakeholders
to support collaboration and achieve successfulproject outcomes.

The Duties
n
n
Implementing and delivering projects relating tothe production environment and equipment in the Mint's Operationsbranch, including:n
n
managing resources,
includingestablishing
and leading project teams, to ensure the effectiveexecution of project tasks;
n
scheduling and leading projectmeetings, including performing administrative tasks such as minutetaking and managing actions;
n
ensuring projects are onschedule and relevant milestones are achieved;
n
managing project costs withinbudget; and
n
reporting on
projectdeliverables.
n
n
Managing procurement in accordance withCommonwealth Procurement Rules to support project
delivery,including:n
n
assessing requirements;
n
preparingdocumentation
;
n
managing requests forquotes;
n
undertaking tender processesand evaluations; and
n
managing
procurementoutcomes.
n
n
Developing and maintaining productive relationshipswith stakeholders and business areas to create and deliversolutions that optimise projects.
n
n
Qualification
n
A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, projectmanagement or procurement.
n
Security
n
This position requires a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. Thesuccessful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain aclearance at this level.
