Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Surgical | Melbourne

A unique opportunity awaits a highly experienced Registered Nurse to step into an Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Surgical leadership role within an established management team at a private hospital in Melbourne. Opportunities are available across a range of acute surgical services, including Orthopaedics, Colorectal, Bariatric and Liver, as well as Cardiac and Acute Medical services.

ABOUT THE ROLE
n
As anAssociate Nurse Unit Manager,your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
n
Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
n
Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and leadership team to ensure compliance with the strategic direction of the department and organisation;
n
Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
n
Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources;
n
Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
n
Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
n
Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst delivering exceptional standards of patient care and communication;
n
Ensuring a leadership presence within your department;
n
Mentoring of staff.
n

REQUIREMENTS
n

Current registration with AHPRA;
n
Working with Children check (if relevant);
n
Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable);
n
Sound clinical knowledge;
n
3 years of clinical experience;
n
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
n
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
n
Positive role modelling behaviours;
n
Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation.
n

REMUNERATION
n
Salary ranges between $***** and $***** + 12.5% Super.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
n
The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
