Reporting to the Group Manager - Setting, Social & Governance, the Sustainability Data Analyst works across ESG, Group, Australasia corporate and site teams, and IT/data specialists to embed consistent data practices and align sustainability data with organisational metrics and reporting requirements.

Sustainability Data Management, Governance & Controls:
n
n
Support the ESG team in delivering consistent, reliable sustainability data for reporting and decision-making.
n
Identify and prioritise data required to meet organisational metrics, targets, and reporting obligations.
n
Coordinate data collection, validation, and QA/QC across sites and corporate teams.
n
Define and maintain data definitions, methodologies, and controls to support consistency and auditability.
n

Systems, Integration & Reporting:
n
n
Integrate sustainability data into enterprise platforms (e.g. Data Lake, Unifi, Power BI, Borealis) as the single source of truth.
n
Work with IT/data teams to define data requirements and reporting outputs.
n
Develop and maintain reporting outputs, dashboards, and visualisations, monitoring for trends and anomalies.
n

Assurance, Stakeholder Engagement & Capability:
n
n
Support sustainability data assurance, including audit preparation and evidence provision.
n
Liaise with Group, reporting, and assurance stakeholders to align data requirements and outputs.
n
Guide and train site and corporate teams on sustainability data practices and quality.
n
Support sustainability inputs to executive and Board reporting, as required.
n

About the Employer

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea,
Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is constructing the Eva Copper Mine in Cloncurry, QLD with first production targeted for the second half of the **** calendar year. About the Candidate
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in data science, analytics, environmental science, sustainability, engineering, GIS, or a related discipline.
n
Approximately 3-5 years' experience in data analysis, reporting, or analytics roles.
n
Experience working with enterprise data systems and reporting tools, such as Power BI or sustainability platforms.
n
Strong capability in data handling, manipulation, and analysis (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, or similar).
n
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and flag anomalies or inconsistencies.
n
Ability to work across ESG, operational, and IT/data teams to align data inputs and reporting outputs.
n
Well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
n

Desirable
n
n
Experience working with sustainability, environmental, social, GIS and/or operational datasets.
n
Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. IFRS, ASRS, GRI, NGERS).
n
Exposure to data governance, QA/QC, or assurance processes.
n
Familiarity or interest in emerging tools (e.g. AI, scripting, or automation) to improve data workflows.
n
