Head of Acquisitions - Commercial Property

This is a base plus commission role with ability to WFH

We are a growing boutique Commercial Real Estate Buyers Agency company that have an established business and clientele.
n
In this role you will be reporting to the CEO/Managing Director, you will take ownership of the commercial acquisitions function - from opportunity origination and preliminary assessment through to due diligence coordination and investment-ready recommendation. You will lead the next generation of commercial property acquisitions, independently originating, assessing, negotiating and progressing quality investment opportunities while leading and developing an acquisitions team.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Source high-quality commercial property opportunities across Australia, both on-market and off-market
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial agents, owners, developers and other deal sources
n
Undertake preliminary deal assessments including pricing, yield, lease profile, tenant strength, market position, risks and value-add potential
n
Determine quickly which opportunities warrant deeper investigation and which should be declined
n
Prepare and/or oversee clear acquisition recommendations and investment papers for senior management
n
Lead negotiations with selling agents, vendors and relevant counterparties
n
Oversee and mentor buyer's
agents/acquisitions
team members and review their deal assessments
n
Create consistent acquisition standards, assessment frameworks and decision-making processes across the team
n
Work closely with the due diligence team to clarify deal issues, define scope,



coordinate external advisers and resolve commercial questions
n
Build a strong, qualified acquisition pipeline and maintain visibility over deal status, priorities and next actions

About you
n
n
Substantial experience in Australian commercial property acquisitions, investment, funds management, agency or a closely related
institutional/commercial
environment
n
A proven track record of originating and executing commercial property transactions
n
Strong commercial property analysis skills and the ability to identify risk and opportunity quickly
n
Demonstrated ability to build agent, vendor and industry relationships that generate deal flow
n
Strong negotiation capability and commercial judgement
n
Leadership experience, including mentoring and improving the performance of acquisitions professionals or buyer's agents
n
Comfortable challenging assumptions and making clear recommendations supported by evidence
n
Robust written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present opportunities to senior decision-makers
n
Highly accountable, commercially minded and comfortable operating with autonomy
n
