Our client, a large and well-established Australian organisation, is seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator to join its ERP Platform team on an initial 12-month contract. Commencement by mid-September ****.
n
This is a hands‐on BAU‐focused role supporting a complex and business‐critical SAP landscape. You will play an important role in maintaining the stability, availability, performance and technical integrity of the existing SAP environment while a permanent team member transitions into a major ERP Transformation program.
n
While this is not a project role, you will also work alongside transformation resources where project activity impacts the existing SAP landscape, including environments, transports, integrations, connectivity, testing and production support.
n
The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior ERP Manager, you will work within an experienced ERP Platform team and collaborate closely with SAP functional and technical specialists, Cyber Security, Identity & Access Management, Infrastructure teams and external support partners.

What You'll Be Doing
n
Your primary focus will be providing reliable, hands‐on SAP Basis administration and operational support across production and non‐production environments.
n
n
Providing end‐to‐end SAP technical administration and BAU operational support.
n
Diagnosing and resolving SAP platform incidents, service requests and recurring technical issues.
n
Supporting system stability, performance and availability across the SAP landscape.
n
Managing system refreshes, client administration, kernel maintenance, patching and technical housekeeping.
n
Applying SAP Notes and coordinating technical escalations with SAP Support.




n
Supporting SAP data and document archiving activities.
n
Maintaining RFC destinations, web services, SSL/SAML/SSO configurations, certificates and other SAP technical connectivity.
n
Managing SAP transports and associated change processes across production and non‐production environments.
n
Troubleshooting job failures, dumps, RFC errors, connectivity issues and system performance bottlenecks.
n
Supporting Major Incident resolution and planned after‐hours maintenance where required.
n
Maintaining technical documentation, operating procedures and audit evidence.
n
Working with infrastructure, networking, security, application and AMS teams to resolve cross‐platform issues.

ERP Transformation Support
n
While your primary responsibility will remain BAU support, you may also:
n
n
Provide Basis support where ERP Transformation activities impact the existing SAP landscape.
n
Assess impacts to environments, transports, interfaces, connectivity and platform configuration.
n
Support environment preparation, technical testing and deployment activities.
n
Work with transformation teams to ensure project‐driven changes do not compromise the stability of existing production services.
n
Provide technical input into dependencies between the current SAP landscape and transformation activities.
n
n
About You
n
You are an experienced, hands‐on SAP Basis professional who is comfortable taking ownership of a complex enterprise SAP environment.
n
You will bring:
n
n
8+ years of SAP Basis experience,



ideally within large and complex enterprise environments.
n
Strong hands‐on experience supporting SAP ECC and NetWeaver‐based environments.
n
Experience across technologies such as SAP CRM, NetWeaver Gateway, SAP Java, SAP BTP, SAP HCM and/or SAP ECP.
n
Strong knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and transport/change processes.
n
Experience with system refreshes, kernel upgrades, patching and SAP Notes.
n
Strong SAP monitoring, troubleshooting and problem‐solving capability.
n
Demonstrated experience resolving job failures, system dumps, RFC issues and performance bottlenecks.
n
Experience working within structured Incident, Problem and Change Management processes and ITSM environments.
n
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across SAP, infrastructure, security and vendor teams.
n
Experience working within a large corporate or retail technology environment will be highly regarded.
n
