Job Description
United Wambo Joint Venture (UWJV) is an open-cut coal mine located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. UWJV is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and MEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody).

The Opportunity

We commenced operation in **** and we are forecast to produce up to 10 million tonnes per annum of run of mine (ROM) thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal until ****.

The role
n
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, as an integral member of the mining team the primary purpose of this role is to provide strong leadership and strategic direction of a team responsible for executing the mine plan to a high standard. This role will require you to lead by example providing visible and credible direction to achieve a secure and productive approach to work.

This role requires an individual prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a fully involved and hands on approach delivering value for all stakeholders, including yourself and others. You will be a member of an industry leading operation built on a culture of Safety, Ownership, Belonging and Achievement.

About you
n
An Open Cut Examiners (OCE) Certificate of competency is essential.
n




You will have experience in the direct supervision and management of personnel in a frontline role.
n
Understand HSEC standards and statutory requirements of an OCE.
n
Able to work collaboratively to achieve operational targets and positive business outcomes.
n
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
n
Excellent time management and leadership skills.
n
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
n
Able to hold your team accountable to deliver excellence in all operational metrics.
n
