About the Opportunity
n
We're excited to offer multiple casual and permanent opportunities for passionate Food Services Assistants to join our Fronditha Care team in Newcastle. In this hands-on role, you'll help prepare and servenutritious, well-presented meals that celebrate our residents' cultural traditions and create a warm, homelike dining experience every day.

The day-to-day responsibilities
n
n
Knowledge of Greek cuisine preferable
n
Plan, prepare and cook meals for care recipients in Fronditha Care facilities
n
Loading and pushing food trolleys
n
Loading and unloading dishwashers
n
Loading and unloading food in and out of commercial ovens
n
Transferring large cooking pots from oven to bench and sink.
n
Maintain high standards of hygiene and comply with food safety regulations.
n
Set and arrange tables and chairs as per procedures.
n
Wash dishes, clean workbenches and maintain a tidy kitchen and dining area.
n
Report any faulty kitchen equipment and maintain compliance with safety standards.
n
Oversee documentation related to food safety, meals records and stock levels.
n
Participate in Fronditha Care's continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality.

About you
n
n
Food handling certificate is essential but not limited to.
n




Previous experience with food handling and cleaning.
n
Minimum 1 year experience in the Aged Care Sector.
n
Proven skills around infection control and safe food handling.
n
Proficiency in communication and teamwork.
n
Preferred background in aged care or a related field.
n
NSW Food Safety Supervisor.
n
Cert III in Commercial Cookery but not limited to.
n
Need to be able to work weekends and afternoon shifts.
n

OH&S; Responsibility
n
n
To always observe and abide by all OH&S; and WorkSafe regulations.
n
To report any potential hazards or breaches to Direct Management immediately.
n
Take any or all appropriate action that is safe to do so to remove or reduce hazards or risks.
n
Report any observed breaches of OH&S; policies and/or regulations by other staff members to Senior Management immediately.
