Job Description
We're offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus for compassionate and experienced Drug and Alcohol (AOD) Registered Nurses to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team at the Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing substance use challenges while ensuring a safe and supportive setting, within a primary care framework.

Requirements
n
AHPRA Registered Nurse (Division 1) with either a postgraduate AOD qualification and 5+ years' AOD specialty experience, or 7+ years' specialist AOD nursing experience.
n
How You'll Make an Impact
n
n
Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with drug and alcohol-related needs.
n
Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to each individual.
n
Administer medications safely, including detoxification protocols when required.
n
Provide education and support on harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery strategies.
n
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, security staff, and external services.
n

Let's Talk About You!
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
with either a postgraduate qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and at least 5 years' AOD specialty experience, or a minimum of 7 years' specialist AOD nursing experience. Experience in substance use or AOD nursing is essential, while experience in high-security or detention settings is desirable. Solid communication skills and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach are highly valued.
