Luna Park Melbourne Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance and engineering team. This is a full-time position based at our St Kilda, VIC location. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing the mechanical systems that keep our world-class amusement park operating safely and efficiently. This role requires advanced technical expertise and the ability to work independently whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment. You will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical equipment meets rigorous safety standards and operates at peak performance.

Key responsibilities
n
Perform complex mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repair work on amusement park rides and mechanical systems
n
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions using advanced troubleshooting techniques
n
Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment compliance with safety regulations
n
Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble mechanical components with precision and attention to detail
n
Operate and utilise specialised mechanical tools and equipment safely and effectively
n
Prepare and maintain comprehensive maintenance records and documentation
n
Collaborate with other engineering and maintenance staff to coordinate work schedules and share technical knowledge
n
Respond promptly to mechanical faults and emergency repairs to minimise operational downtime
n
Mentor and provide guidance to junior fitters and apprentices as required
n
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
n
What we're looking for
n
Completed apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical fitting or a related trade
n




Minimum 5+ years' hands-on experience as a mechanical fitter in a complex mechanical environment
n
Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
n
Demonstrated expertise in the use of precision measuring instruments and mechanical tools
n
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems independently
n
Sound knowledge of mechanical principles, including alignment, balancing, and vibration analysis
n
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to exacting standards
n
Current or willingness to obtain relevant licences and certifications (e.g. working at heights, elevated wok platforms, fork lift peration)
n
Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces where required
n
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
n
Participate in training and the verification to perform the tasks assigned to the Daily Ride Check program
n
Participate in training and the verification to perform the role of Duty Technician
n
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy components
n
Experience in the amusement park, entertainment, or similar mechanical maintenance environment is highly desirable
