Job Description
A position exists for an experienced Overseer or Hands-on Manager for a mixed grazing and cropping property of approx **** acres, located between Young & Cowra.

The mixed farming operation carries approx **** Merino ewes, **** XB lambs, alongside livestock trading opportunities when the seasons allow. Predominantly improved high protein pastures along with approx ********* acres of crop.
n
Owners have focused on providing valuable infrastructure and machinery to help support management. This includes a new Finn design undercover sheep handling facility, alongside an existing modern 4 stand raised board shearing shed, good hay and machinery shedding, a new internal lane way system and new bore.
n
The successful applicant will have a hands-on role with all day-to-day operations and management of the livestock, pastures & cropping.

Applicants should have previous experience with
n
n
Sheep and cattle handling and management
n
ALL the necessary day-to-day livestock welfare and husbandry duties
n
Pasture and grazing management
n
Crop and weed management
n
Crop spraying and chemical rec's
n
Ability to communicate well and organise contractors for sowing, shearing etc
n
Farm and machinery operations and general maintenance
n
General farm maintenance skills including; welding, fencing and watering systems
n
Ability to keep and maintain records for livestock and chemicals
n
Ability to work independently towards set outcomes and timeframes
n
Ability to demonstrate experience of the above-mentioned tasks
n
Effective communication, planning and organisational skills
n
Must be able and willing to work as part of a family operation
n
Must be hardworking, energetic and pro-active to tasks
n
Must implement high standards of animal welfare
n
n
Current Chemcert certificate or willingness to obtain certification
n
HR Truck license or willingness to obtain license
n
The annual salary will be based upon the applicant's experience, knowledge and proven ability.
n
This is a long-term position for the right applicant to work with the current owners.
