Job Description
Maintenance Lead / Maintenance Fitter - Steel Fabrication Workshop
n
Dunsteel Engineering is a structural steel fabrication and installation business based in the Moss Vale, delivering commercial projects across Sydney. Our workshop runs a full processing line and we install what we make - so when plant goes down, it's felt immediately.
n
We're creating a new role to take ownership of that plant properly, rather than fixing things as they break.
n
The role
n
You'll be the person responsible for everything mechanical in our facility and across our mobile plant fleet. That means:
n
n
Building and running a preventive maintenance schedule - not just reacting to breakdowns
n
Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and fault-finding across processing plant, conveyors and roller tables, saws, drills, materials handling and compressed air
n
Maintaining our mobile plant: forklifts, EWPs, mini crawler crane, welding plant and generators
n
Keeping our registered plant compliant - overhead cranes, lifting gear, inspection and certification records
n
First-line diagnosis on CNC plant and managing the OEM service relationship when specialist support is needed
n
Managing external contractors - electrical, crane inspection, OEM service
n
Reducing unplanned downtime.
n
n
This is a genuine ownership role.
You'll set the system up the way you think it should run, and you'll have the budget and the authority to do it.
n
What you'll bring
n
n
Trade qualification - Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade), Fitter/Machinist, Maintenance Fitter, Plant Mechanic, or Heavy Vehicle/Mobile Plant Mechanic
n
Solid hands-on background maintaining industrial plant, mobile plant or heavy machinery
n
The discipline to run a maintenance schedule and keep records, not just turn spanners
n
Current driver's licence
n
Highly regarded, but we'll train the right person:n
n
Experience with CNC processing plant - beam lines, drill lines, plasma or laser cutting, band saws
n
Conveyor and materials handling systems
n
Basic PLC familiarity and the ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
n
Forklift, EWP or crane tickets
n
Any electrical qualification or restricted electrical licence
n
Experience supervising or mentoring a trade assistant or apprentice
n
n
n
What we offer
n
n
Permanent full time, day shift Monday to Friday
n
Genuine autonomy and a direct line to the leadership team
n
Support to get any tickets or training you need
n
n
Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.
