Job Description
Business Services Manager – Accounting, Tax & Advisory
n
Trinity Advisory | Brendale, North Brisbane $140,000–$150,000 + Super | Genuine Employee Equity | Advisory-Led Firm
n
You Didn't Train for Seven Years to Stay a Compliance Machine
n
If your job today looks exactly like it did five years ago, just with more clients on the file, that's not a career. That's a treadmill.
n
We're opening a Trinity office in Brendale, and we're looking for an experienced accountant who wants what most firms put in the ad but rarely deliver: a real seat at the table, genuine equity in the business, and clients who expect more than a tax return once a year.
n
And when we say equity, we mean it.
n
This year alone, Trinity gave more than $300,000 in equity to our employees, at no cost to them, through our employee share scheme.
n
That's not a vague promise about ownership someday. It's proof that the people who help build Trinity genuinely have the opportunity to share in the value they create.
n
The Opportunity
n
This isn't a promotion in title only.
n
You'll work directly with established business owners who already expect commercial advice, accountability and insight from their accountant.
n
Your job is to help them understand their numbers and use that clarity to build a stronger business, not simply survive the next BAS or get another tax return lodged.
n
You'll also be joining Brendale early enough to have a genuine influence over how the office develops, how clients are looked after and the culture we build around it.
n
If Brendale becomes a significant Trinity office over the next five years, you'll have been there from the beginning and helped shape what it became.
n
What You'll Actually Do
n
n
Run financial statements, tax returns, GST and tax planning, done properly, not just done
n
Lead client meetings and own strong, long-term client relationships
n
Sit across the table from business owners and tell them what their numbers actually mean
n
Dig into cash flow, pricing, margins, profitability and where the real commercial opportunities sit
n
Look beyond the numbers into positioning, niche,
team and culture when those things are affecting performance
n
Turn what you uncover into decisions owners can actually act on
n
Help clients improve performance rather than simply report what happened last year
n
Play an active role in building the Brendale office as the team grows
n
n
Who Thrives Here
n
We need the technical bar met. But we need more than technical competence.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
7+ years in public practice
n
CA or CPA qualification
n
Manager-level experience, or close enough that the gap is small
n
Confidence owning client relationships and leading meetings rather than sitting beside someone else while they do it
n
The ability to tell a business owner an uncomfortable truth when it's the right call
n
Genuine curiosity about how businesses make money, not just how they report it
n
Strong capability across Xero, XPM, FYI, Excel modelling and AI-enabled workflows
n
A desire to build something, not just staff something
n
n
If you enjoy asking why margins moved, where cash is disappearing, what pricing needs to change and what the owner should do next, you'll probably enjoy this role.
n
Why Trinity
n
We don't expect you to take our word for it.
n
Ask our clients, or better yet, read what they say.
n
There are more than 50 client testimonials on our website, including over 20 video testimonials. The common theme is that businesses become stronger, margins improve and, for a number of our clients, profits have doubled over several years of working with us.
n
Our work has also been recognised externally:
n
n
Boutique Firm Partner, Winner, Australian Accounting Awards, ****
n
Community Partner, Winner, Xero Awards Australia, ****
n
People's Choice, Winner,
Xero Awards Australia, ****
n
Regional / Suburban Firm of the Year, Winner, Australian Accounting Awards, ****
n
n
But the part of Trinity we're proudest of isn't an award.
n
Last November, around fifty of our clients and their partners came together for our annual charity lunch and raised more than $500,000 for the local hospital foundation in a single day.
n
Over six years, that event has now raised more than $1.8 million.
n
Nobody made those clients participate.
n
To us, it says something about the community that has grown around Trinity and the relationships we've built with the business owners we work with.
n
Help Build Brendale
n
Brendale isn't an established branch you'll simply slot into.
n
It's being built by an experienced team leader relocating specifically to help establish it, backed by the broader Trinity team as it grows.
n
You'll have the opportunity to influence:
n
n
How the office operates
n
How client relationships are managed
n
How advisory is delivered
n
How the team develops
n
The culture we build locally
n
n
Your voice will count because you'll be joining while there is still something meaningful to shape.
n
Share in What You Help Build
n
Our employee share scheme exists for a simple reason: we believe the people who help create the value should have the opportunity to participate in it.
n
There is already a genuine mechanism for employees to become shareholders and share in the value they are helping create.
n
For the right person, this is an opportunity to build much more than a salary.
n
Practical Details
n
This is an office-based role in Brendale, North Brisbane, with client meetings, occasional site visits and periodic travel within Queensland.
n
We're deliberately not positioning this as another accounting job offering the same work from a different desk.
n
We're looking for someone who wants greater responsibility, stronger commercial exposure, meaningful client relationships, and the prospect to participate in the business they are helping grow.
