About the Opportunity
n
As the Quality Risk & Safety Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for:
n
n
Leading the development, implementation and evaluation of a rigorous Quality and Safety governance framework to improve patient safety and clinical quality.
n
Leading investigations into serious patient safety and clinical incidents, including Root Cause Analysis and clinical incident reviews, and driving strategies for prevention and improvement.
n
Leading and coordinating Griffith Base Hospital to attain accreditation by consistently meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
n
Providing executive leadership for the hospital's policy and procedure framework, ensuring alignment with legislation and Ministry of Health requirements.
n
Implementing and monitoring risk assessment and management practices in accordance with the Ministry of Health Risk Management Enterprise-Wide Policy and Framework.
n
Providing senior leadership in the management of medico-legal issues, including litigation, legislation requirements and compliance.
n
Providing timely and accurate advice to the General Manager and Executive team on matters relating to patient safety, consumer feedback, complaints and clinical quality.

About You
n
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
n
n
Successful experience in, and understanding of, clinical governance, including the management of patient safety and clinical quality, and NSW Health policies on Risk, Quality and Complaints Management and ACHS Accreditation.
n
High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage large volumes of information and lead organisational change and improvement strategies.
n
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including high level consultation and negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
n
The ability to act as an advisor to senior executive, managers and clinicians, analysing and responding to issues with flexibility and expertise.
n
Skills in training and mentoring staff and providing leadership for quality improvement and major change and reform projects.
n
The ability to produce comprehensive reports and deliver performance outcomes, including solid time management, resource management and conflicting priority management.
