Accountant - Finance

The Opportunity
n
Our client is a well-established, faith-based organisation with a strong commitment to its values and mission. An chance is available for an experienced Accountant to join the Finance team and take ownership of the financial accounting and reporting for a portfolio of designated entities. This is a varied role covering full general ledger ownership, financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Take full ownership of the general ledger for designated entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
n
Maintain accurate accounts and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
n
Manage accruals, capital works accounting and financial reporting.
n
Prepare annual statutory financial statements and required government reporting.
n
Assist with BAS and FBT reporting.
n
Prepare monthly management reports and provide insightful commentary on financial performance and variances.
n
Assist with annual budgeting and financial analysis.
n




Liaise with external auditors and provide required working papers.
n
Review and approve Accounts Payable transactions.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance team.
n
Work closely with leadership, Business Partners and administration teams to provide meaningful financial insight.
n

About You - You will ideally have:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification.
n
Strong technical accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Demonstrated experience owning and managing a full general ledger.
n
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
The ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
n
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
n
Experience with a large ERP system.
n
A willingness to support and align with the organisation's values and mission.
