Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead a team of 4-5 engineers responsible for critical customer-facing web experiences used at significant scale.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can stay close to the technology while improving how the team makes decisions, solves complex problems and delivers.

What you'll do
n
You'll be responsible for:
n
n
Leading, coaching and developing a team of 4-5 engineers
n
Owning technical direction across a high-traffic web platform
n
Improving Core Web Vitals, SEO, latency and overall web performance
n
Driving better engineering velocity and removing technical blockers
n
Leading architecture and system design discussions
n
Improving technical standards, code quality and engineering practices
n
Managing technical debt and cross-team dependencies
n
Partnering closely with Product and Design
n
Helping the team make pragmatic technical trade-offs
n
Communicating technical risks, options and recommendations to senior stakeholders
n
n
You'll remain technically involved where it matters, including architecture, solution design,



code reviews and complex engineering decisions, without becoming the person every decision depends on.
n
What we're looking for
n
You'll likely come from a background as an Engineering Team Lead, Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer or hands-on Engineering Manager.
n
You should have strong experience across:
n
n
React.js
n
Next.js
n
Server-Side Rendering
n
Core Web Vitals
n
Web performance and scalability
n
High-traffic customer-facing platforms
n
System design and architecture
n
APIs and distributed services
n
Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
n
Direct people leadership
n
Product and stakeholder management
n
n
Experience with GraphQL, micro-frontends, contemporary application security and AI coding tools would also be valuable.
