Green Star / Sustainability Coordinator — Construction

Established 20+year high-performing construction business seeking a Green Star / Sustainability Coordinator to run Green Star delivery across a live pipeline of Apartment, Hotel, Social Housing and Office projects to $400mil+. Good fit for a GSAP-accredited professional, or someone passionate and willing to get supported through accreditation. To then take real ownership across multiple projects, with the business's in-house Green Star expert on hand to support you.

The Role:
n
Flexible/hybrid — WFH, with a desk in head office.
n
Work closely with the business's in-house Green Star expert and get supported through accreditation if not already accredited.
n
Trusted, high-visibility role — you own each project's Green Star strategy from design through to certification.
n
Several live projects on the go at once, at different stages: early design, mid-construction, near-submission. A steady pipeline across different stages means broad exposure to the full Green Star lifecycle, not the same phase on repeat.
n
Advise project, design and site teams on Green Star credits, compliance risks and practical fixes.
n
Coordinate evidence from consultants, suppliers and subcontractors, and manage submissions through the GBCA online platform.
n
Review material selections, environmental certifications, drawings, specs and subcontractor documentation for compliance.
n
Monitor construction waste, indoor air quality,



commissioning and sustainability targets. Run site inspections and training for project staff.

Direct line to clients, sustainability consultants and the GBCA.
n

Ideal Candidate:
n
Current GSAP accreditation through the GBCA, or willing to be supported and earn accreditation.
n
Experience on Green Star-rated Apartment, Hotel, Social Housing or Office projects — having worked through GBCA submissions previosuly, with a certification achieved.
n
Solid working knowledge of Green Star Buildings requirements and the
submission/certification
process. Green Star Buildings v1.1 experience a bonus.
n
Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing and coordinating submissions and evidence, including via the GBCA platform.
n
Comfortable running sustainability plans, credit trackers and compliance registers.
n
Confident dealing directly with builders, subcontractors, consultants, architects and clients.
n
Good grasp of sustainable procurement, responsible products, waste management, indoor environmental quality and embodied-carbon requirements.
n
Builder or head contractor experience, and/or familiarity with NABERS, NatHERS, NCC energy-efficiency requirements and Victorian environmental regs, well regarded.
n
Life-cycle assessment, embodied-carbon reporting or climate-positive design knowledge a plus.
