Job Description
HOPE Community Services has been supporting Western Australians for over 120 years, delivering services across alcohol and other drugs, mental health, justice, and family and domestic violence.Walking together with the community to restore hope and transforms lives acrossWA.

The
GoldfieldsSuicidePrevention
Program is funded by the WA Mental Health Commission and plays a vital role in strengthening community wellbeing,
reducingsuiciderisk,
and supporting
coordinatedsuicideprevention
efforts across the region. Working alongside government agencies, community organisations, health services and local communities, the program delivers evidence-based initiatives that promote help-seeking, connection, resilience and community-led action.

About the Role
n
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, evaluating and continuously improving
regionalsuicideprevention
activities in line with the WA
StateSuicidePrevention
Strategy. You will work closely with stakeholders, community groups, government agencies and service providers to identify emerging needs, strengthen partnerships, coordinate training and awareness initiatives, and support the achievement of the
GoldfieldsSuicidePrevention
Plan.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Coordinate and support the implementation of the
GoldfieldsSuicidePrevention
Plan and
regionalsuicideprevention
initiatives.
n
Provide leadership and support to HOPE's AOD Prevention Officer and headspace Community Engagement Worker.
n
Develop,



implement and evaluate SuicidePrevention Action Plans using evidence-based frameworks and measurable outcomes.
n
Monitor community trends, identify emerging issues and provide timely advice to key stakeholders and the WA Mental Health Commission.
n
n
Coordinate and facilitate
RegionalSuicidePrevention
Network and Advisory Group meetings.
n
n
Support
localsuicideprevention
groups and community-led initiatives.
n
Develop and maintain regional
suspectedsuicidenotification
and postvention response procedures.
n
Coordinate and
promotesuicideprevention
training for professionals, frontline workers and community groups.
n
Deliver public awareness campaigns, events and initiatives that encourage help-seeking, connection and community action.
n
n
Contribute to a positive workplace culture aligned with HOPE's values and strategic objectives.
n
n
Travel throughout the Goldfields region as required to support program delivery and community engagement.
n
n

$100,****** salary + plus superannuation.

$5,****** regional allowance per annum.

Full-time position based in Kalgoorlie.

You'll Need
n
n
Tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Psychology, Social Services or an approved equivalent discipline.
n
Commitment to upholding HOPE's vision, mission and values.
n
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government, non-government, industry and community stakeholders.
n
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and/or demonstrated ability to work in culturally secure ways.
n
Strong organisational, project management and coordination skills.
n
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
n
Experience managing budgets and reporting against Key Performance Indicators.
n
High-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
n
Strong administrative and computer skills.
n
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Goldfields region.
n
n
Pre-Employment Requirements
n
n
Current C or A Class Driver's Licence.
n
Current National Police Clearance (within three months).
n
Current Working with Children Check.
n
n
