This role is an integral part of contributing to a safe community and positive environmental impacts within the City of Stonnington. The Street Cleaning Driver Labourer is responsible for providing a high-quality street cleaning service to maintain the cleanliness of the streets and precinct areas.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Maintain the cleanliness of public roads, streets, laneways and carparks by carrying out all street cleaning duties scheduled
n
Effective and efficient cleaning of streets and laneways manually using brooms, rakes and shovels
n
Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, digging, raking, sweeping and using mechanical tools
n
Effective and efficient operation of large, medium and small street cleaning vehicle as required in a safe, competent and responsible manner in accordance with Road Traffic Regulations
n
Ensure the vehicle in use is maintained in good condition and any defects are reported to the Workshop and are entered into the vehicle log book
n
Clean and ensure the vehicle in use is maintained in good condition and any defects are reported to Fleet Management and entered into the vehicle maintenance register
n
Work with the Team Leader and report an incomplete works
n
Maintain good relationships with residents, traders, the general public and other Council departments, and represent Council by promoting a good image as a unit.

Report any
incidences/accidents
to the Team Leader
n




Ensure appropriate safety and protective equipment is utilised to carry out works safely
n
n
Join us in this full-time permanent role, offering a competitive salary of $74,****** plus 12% superannuation.
n

What you'll need to succeed:
n
n
Knowledge of and the ability to operate street cleaning plant and equipment.
n
Knowledge of safe Manual Handling Techniques and Occupational Health and Safety.
n
Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
n
Skills in managing time, planning and organising one's own work to achieve agreed objectives
n
Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision
n
Positive verbal and written communication skills.
n
Ability to work effectively with management, staff and customers concerning information needs.
n




Ability to work and contribute to a positive team environment.
n
Current valid motor vehicle Drivers Licence
n
Basic knowledge of the use of hand tools.
n
Ability to follow OHS policies and procedures.
n
Physical ability to perform the work.
n
Flexibility to ensure targets are met within an adequate timeframe.
