We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist for an urgent backfill contract opportunity supporting a complex and highly secure ICT environment in Canberra.

This is an established position within a broader technical program, making it an excellent opportunity for a security-cleared cyber professional who can step into the role quickly, work with minimal supervision and make an immediate contribution.

The Role
n
Cyber Security Specialist - NV1
n
Operating at SFIA Level 5, you will provide specialist ICT and cyber security expertise across a complex setting, working alongside technical specialists and engaging with a range of stakeholders.
n
The underlying program supports complex ICT systems and requires personnel capable of delivering specialist technical advice within secure, highly governed environments. The Cyber Security Specialist requirement specifically calls for ICT/cyber security experience and relevant professional certifications.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide specialist cyber and ICT security advice across a complex technical environment.
n
Support security governance, compliance and accreditation activities.
n
Identify and assess security risks, issues and potential vulnerabilities.
n
Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation and artefacts.
n
Work collaboratively with systems, network, infrastructure and other technical specialists.
n
Support the implementation and ongoing operation of appropriate security controls.
n
Engage effectively with technical, business and senior stakeholders.
n
Contribute to broader cyber security and operational outcomes across the program.
n
Work within established security, governance and technical frameworks.
n
n
The broader environment includes enterprise networking, infrastructure, server platforms and systems management, with Cisco and Juniper technologies specifically referenced within the technical environment.

About You
n
n
Strong experience in ICT Security or Cyber Security.
n
Experience working within complex, secure enterprise ICT environments.
n
Knowledge of cyber security governance, risk, compliance and accreditation.
n
Ability to operate effectively at a senior practitioner / SFIA Level 5 level.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Ability to work across multidisciplinary technical teams.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
n
Ability to quickly understand an existing environment and hit the ground running.
n

Certifications
n
Relevant cyber security qualifications and certifications are highly regarded, including:

CISM
n
CISA
n
CEH
n
CompTIA Security+
n
Other relevant cyber security certifications
n
n
These certifications are specifically identified as examples within the role requirements.

Security Clearance
n
Applicants must hold a current NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance at a minimum.
