MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded and prestigious organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Funeral Arranger / Conductor across its Brighton and Dandenong locations.

The Role
n
As a Funeral Arranger / Conductor, you will work closely with families to understand their wishes, coordinate arrangements and ensure funeral services are delivered seamlessly and respectfully.
n
You will be responsible for both the arrangement and conduct of funeral services, providing a calm and professional presence throughout the process and working closely with families, celebrants, clergy, internal teams and external stakeholders.
n
Key responsibilities include:

Meeting with families to understand their wishes and arrange personalised funeral services
n
Coordinating all aspects of funeral arrangements, ensuring every detail is managed with care
n
Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism, composure and respect
n
Providing an exceptional level of service to families throughout their experience
n
Liaising with celebrants, clergy, cemeteries, crematoria and other key stakeholders
n
Supporting the preparation and coordination of services, including logistics and transportation
n
Ensuring services run smoothly and to the highest professional standards
n
Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative requirements
n
Supporting day-to-day operations across the Brighton and Dandenong locations as required
n
Following all organisational policies, procedures, quality and safety standards
n
Contributing positively to a respectful, collaborative and supportive team environment
n

About You
n




We are looking for someone who combines empathy and emotional intelligence with professionalism, organisation and confidence.
n
You will be comfortable working with families experiencing grief and be able to remain calm, composed and attentive to detail in sensitive circumstances.
n
Essential:
n
n
Previous experience in a customer-facing, service-focused or people-focused environment
n
Current unrestricted driver's licence
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilityA calm, mature and professional approach
n
Ability to work sensitively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
n
Confidence using technology, systems and administrative platforms
n
Comfortable working in environments involving death, grief and deceased persons
n
Physically and psychologically capable of meeting the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling
n

Desirable:
n
n
Previous experience within the funeral services industry
n
Experience in hospitality, luxury retail, healthcare, aged care, community services or another highly customer-focused environment
n
Experience coordinating events, ceremonies or complex service arrangements
n
A genuine interest in building a long-term career within the funeral services industry
