Position Summary
n
We're looking for a Sleep Technician to work overnight in our purpose-built Sleep Laboratory at John Flynn Private Hospital.
n
You'll prepare patients for overnight in-laboratory sleep studies, apply and monitor physiological signals throughout the night, and perform CPAP and NIV titration where required. You'll also ensure patients are comfortable and supported throughout their study and that high-quality data is captured for physician interpretation.
n
This is a good fit for someone who is self-directed, observant, clinically minded and comfortable working independently overnight.

Responsibilities

What you'll do
n
n
Welcome and prepare patients for overnight diagnostic sleep studies, explaining the procedure and applying monitoring equipment
n
Monitor patients and physiological signals throughout the night, ensuring data quality, patient comfort and safety
n
Perform CPAP and NIV titration where required, in accordance with established protocols
n




Respond appropriately to patient needs and any issues that arise during the study
n
Clean and maintain sleep study equipment
n
Download and prepare sleep study data following each study
n
Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients
n
Accurately document relevant observations and events throughout the study
n

Requirements
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Basic knowledge of sleep disorders and medical terminology
n
Robust attention to detail and observation skills
n
Good communication and patient care skills
n
Comfortable working independently overnight
n
Availability for 12-hour overnight shifts
n
Relevant sleep science certification or training preferred — training and support provided for the right candidate
n
A background in Health Sciences or an associated medical field is highly regarded
n
Reliable ability to attend John Flynn Private Hospital, Tugun for overnight shifts
n
