About the RoleReady to bring your culinary skills to a vibrant, community-focused environment?
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Chef to join a prestigious private girls' boarding school near the heart of Hobart, Tasmania.
This is more than just a cooking role—you'll be creating fresh, nutritious meals that fuel students' wellbeing, while also contributing to an exciting mix of college events and café operations.
With around 40 boarders and staff, you'll play an important part in shaping their daily experience.
Please note: This role operates during school terms only, offering a great opportunity for work-life balance during holiday periods.
Reporting to the Chef Manager, you'll take pride in delivering quality food, maintaining excellent food safety standards, and supporting a dynamic kitchen operation.

Working Hours
25 hours per week across Sunday to Thursday

What You'll Bring

Skills and experience
3+ years' experience in a similar role
Cert III in commercial cookery desirable
Reliable and punctual
Collaborative and team player
Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
Empathy and respect towards staff and clients.
High level of QA, WH&S;, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
Key responsibilities
Ability to produce high quality meals in line with food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures including low and high care residents.
Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
Responsible for preparation of special diets.
Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
