Exercise Physiologist — Part Time | Manly, NSW
Do you love your own training?
Do you get a kick out of helping others?
Want a workplace where you can achieve work–life balance while continuing to develop as a clinician?
Health Max Exercise Physiology is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and personable Accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our growing team in Manly.
About the Role
This is a part-time, hourly position working from our private clinical strength studio in Manly.
You'll work with a wide-ranging caseload, delivering individual and small-group exercise interventions for people who want to become stronger, move better and maintain their independence.
Our clients include older adults and people managing osteoporosis and osteopenia, musculoskeletal conditions, chronic health conditions, disability and age-related changes in strength and function.
You'll have the autonomy to develop as a clinician while working within a supportive team that values clinical excellence, genuine relationships and measurable client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised, goal-focused exercise programs.
Deliver one-on-one and small-group sessions incorporating strength, balance, aerobic conditioning and functional training.
Work with clients managing chronic disease, musculoskeletal conditions, disability and age-related functional decline.
Monitor progress using objective measures and progressively adjust exercise prescription.
Maintain clear and accurate clinical documentation.
Communicate with GPs and other allied health and medical professionals where appropriate.
Educate clients around exercise, falls prevention, pain management and long-term self-management.
Contribute to the continued development of our clinical systems, programs and culture.
What We Offer
$40–$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Flexible part-time hours and genuine work–life balance.
A modern, private clinical strength studio in Manly, NSW.
A strength-focused environment with high-quality equipment.
Clinical mentorship and support.
Exposure to both individual and small-group clinical exercise delivery.
A varied caseload with a strong focus on older adults, strength, bone health and long-term function.
Opportunity to grow your hours and responsibilities as Health Max grows.
A small team where your ideas and contribution genuinely matter.
Essential Criteria
Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) status with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), or eligibility to obtain accreditation.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound clinical reasoning and a client-centred approach.
Confidence working independently while contributing to a small team.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Appropriate working-with-children and other screening checks as required.
Clinical experience is valued, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. We're more interested in finding the right person than simply the longest CV.
Who Will Thrive at Health Max?
You'll probably enjoy working with us if you:
Genuinely enjoy training and understand the value of getting stronger.
Get satisfaction from helping other people make meaningful progress.
Can build rapport with people from all walks of life.
Are curious and want to keep improving clinically.
Take responsibility for the quality of your work.
Enjoy working with older adults and people who may not feel comfortable in a traditional gym.
Want to become an excellent clinician rather than simply move through appointments.
We're building Health Max around a simple idea: exercise should help people remain capable, strong and independent throughout their lives.
If that sounds like the kind of work you want to do, we'd love to hear from you.
