Armidale and New England Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the 22-bed Surgical Ward on a contract basis, starting 21 September 2026. This is a full-time, 24/7 rotating roster position offering AUD 45.00 to AUD 60.00 per hour. The hospital is a busy regional facility with an integrated Emergency Department, Medical/General Ward, and Paediatric Ward. Shared off-site accommodation is provided during the current renovation period, with driving to site highly favourable at this time.

- AUD 45.00 to AUD 60.00 per hour, plus superannuation and shift penalties
- Shared accommodation provided, supporting nurses relocating to the Armidale region

Preferred Requirements





- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Minimum 12 months post-registration experience in a surgical or acute care setting
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rotating roster environment, including nights and weekends
- Robust clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise care in a busy ward
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to patient-centred care

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification recognised by AHPRA
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Post-graduate qualification or experience in surgical nursing is advantageous
